The cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera has shifted its attention to soybean crops in Paraguay, where it is causing huge damage. Soybeans are grown all year round and, due to insecticide resistance, many farmers have to make more than 10 applications per season for Helocoverpa sps.

Earlier this year a “hit squad” of PFIs from SynTech Argentina, Andres Risso, Penny Rodriguez and Lucía Passadore, conducted highly successful farmer field-scale insecticide trials in Paraguay against the Helicoverpa complex, using new candidate chemicals.
