In June the Brazilian National Technical Biosafety Commission (CTNBio) granted the Certificate of Quality in Biosafety (CQB) to the SynTech Research Laboratory in Brazil.

The Certificate (CQB 450/2018) allows SynTech to carry out GMO field trials with regulated material for the expression of proteins, composition, efficacy, residue, biodegradability, non-target organisms (NTOs) and agronomic data, in soybean, corn, cotton and sugarcane. It also includes analysis of residues in regulated material and of NTOs from GMO trials.

The QCB Certificate covers SynTech’ Field Units in Santa Maria-Rio Grande do Sul and in Palmeiras de Goias and our Laboratory Operative Units in Sao Paulo (for residues studies) and in Piracicaba (Sao Paulo State) for NTOs.

SynTech will now be requesting CTNBio to extend the Certificate to include the Field Units in Petrolina-PE, Bandeirantes-PR and its two Units in Mogi Guaçu-SP. SynTech anticipates providing services for protein expression analysis for GMO material in the near future.
