We are excited to feature Karine Faye, an indispensable member of SynTech Research Group, based in La Chapelle de Guinchay, France. In this interview, Karine shares her insights into her role, motivations and experiences working at SynTech Research.
What is your role and what do you mostly like about your daily work?
I’ve held a variety of roles at SynTech Research, starting as a Field Biologist and eventually becoming the Quality Assurance Lead. This role has provided the most professionally fulfilling experience for me so far. I truly enjoy being involved in a wide range of projects, whether in the field, the lab, or IT, and tackling diverse challenges. What I value most is working in a constructive environment alongside different departments and partners, and especially collaborating with an incredible team that is both passionate and deeply committed.
What are the values and culture of SynTech Research Group that resonate most with you?
What stands out most to me is the culture of excellence, it is a shared commitment to achieving the highest standards through collective effort. Respect and fairness are core values that I find especially important. And above all, it’s the kindness of my colleagues that truly defines the working environment.
Recently, you participated in SynTech Leadership Academy II training program 2024/2025, can you share what you learnt and which aspects did you find the most valuable in the training?
I had the chance of being selected for this training program involving some of our impressive leaders sharing their experience. Modules like Ethics and Integrity, Sales and Product development were very thrilling to deepen SynTech’s strategy. I, personal, really enjoyed the module on Managing Self with DiSC with Edward van Luinen. The DiSC* acronym stands for the four main personality types outlined in the DiSC model. D: Dominance, i: Influence, S: Steadiness, and C: Conscientiousness. This was a chance to explore ourselves and to improve the relationships and effectiveness in communication. This would be profitable to anyone even in an extra professional context.
Is there a particular achievement or project in your career that you are especially proud of?
Working at SynTech Research has been an exciting and dynamic journey, offering constant opportunities to grow and contribute in meaningful ways. One achievement I’m particularly proud of is leading the integration of GLP systems to help structure our current organization in France. Building a unified system across three historically separate companies was a significant challenge but a rewarding one. Another meaningful experience was participating in the acquisition process of the analytical laboratory in Lyon. Collaborating with our outstanding colleagues on this project, and contributing to the development of our service offerings in Europe through the creation of the homogenization lab, was both professionally fulfilling and personally moving.
Anything else you wish to share in your interview?
I’d simply like to express my gratitude to the inspiring leaders and supportive colleagues who have helped me grow. I’m especially thankful for the amazing teammates who share not only the workload but also a great sense of humor. I feel incredibly fortunate to collaborate with the QA team, an exceptionally dedicated group committed every day to strengthening our systems and upholding the highest standards of quality for our clients.
