Reports to: Biosolutions Global Lead
Mission: To provide competitive, independent research and product development in crop production; crop protection; crop nutrition, crop bio stimulation and soil management.
Position Summary:
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the microbiology laboratory, actively participating in all GLP studies either as study director or principal investigator.
- Act as liaison between Microbiology Lab and Quality Assurance, to ensure GLP compliance.
- Act as liaison between Microbiology Lab and Regulatory Department, to achieve customers’ requirements and needs.
- Provide timely and accurate production of protocols (analytical method validation design and development), analyses and their subsequent reports. Ensure that workflow is not interrupted by equipment failures or poorly trained personnel or equipment scheduling. This represents a working schedule from Monday to Friday, which occasionally may imply to execute tasks during the weekend.
- Plan and budget annual expenses and capital purchases for the department.
- Ensure overall preparation and analyses of matrices for a host while employing the use of the necessary equipment.
- Participate in the evaluation of the cost of operations, analyses, etc. to facilitate the accurate costing of services to our customers.
- Welcoming and guiding to customers, authorities or SynTech Research’s personnel during visits to the microbiology lab.
- Ensure that studies are conducted in compliance with with Good Laboratory Practices (“GLP”) and Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”).
- To implement new procedures to determine contaminants on PPP and fertilizers and MIC studies to gain new GLP areas of expertise.
- Ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment that protects staff well-being and promotes a culture of safety.
- Oversee all analytical work done in support of field and ecotoxicology trials performed by SynTech Research.
- Remain updated on technical developments pertinent to the agricultural microbiological industry.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree and/or Ph.D. with at least two (2) years in microbiology is required.
- Work experience with a contract research laboratory is highly desirable.
- A proven history of excellence in lab operations management, client service, leading a team, and specific required competencies further described in the job position description.
- Highly valuable GLP knowledge and microbiology ISO standards familiarity.
- Experience in project management, development and implementation of laboratory procedures, and demonstrated command on testing methodologies.
- Fluent English is a must. Other EU languages would be a plus
