SynTech’s Environmental Biotech Lab at Stilwell, Kansas participated successfully in the October 2013 USDA/GIPSA Proficiency Testing. The Grain Inspection, Packers & Stockyards Administration (GIPSA), a subdivision of the USDA, conducts regular Proficiency Tests for laboratories analysing crops for GMO traits.

The SynTech Lab was provided with corn samples having  a range of concentrations of various events, and our qualitative ELISA, PCR and Lateral Flow strip analyses agreed 100% with the keys provided, for all events or proteins tested. These included T25, TC1507, Herculex RW, and MIR604, the promoter CaMV35S , as well as the proteins pat, Cry1Ab, Cry1F, and Cry2.
