SynTech Research Spain has acquired Bayer’s previous Research Centre for Seed Experimentation, located in Picanya, within the intensive agricultural area near Valencia. The site covers 30,000 sq.m; as well as the open field trials areas, it includes 2,200 sq.m of laboratories/storage area, 5,400 sq.m of greenhouses/protected cropping and 600 sq.m of offices. The laboratories, which include a large number of growth chambers and walk-in freezers, will be used for ecotoxicology, residue sample preparation and homogenization, processing, seed treatment and post-harvest trial work.
“It is a great privilege and pleasure to be able to upgrade our presence in Iberia so significantly by taking over this excellent research station,” says Dr. Lidón Avinent, Managing Director, SynTech Spain. “As well as greatly increasing our capacity for contract agrochemical/seeds research, including glasshouse/protected crop work and demonstration trials, the facility, includes a large conference room which can be made available to clients for meetings and events,” says Dr. Avinent.
SynTech Spain will move from its current facility in Alginet, Valencia, establishing its HQ and main laboratory/field operation at the Picanya station. The relocation is expected to be completed by mid-April, when trials work will start at the new site. SynTech Spain will be very pleased to receive requests for work which can be conducted at this excellent location.
